A good way to see Brisbane is from the river that curves through the city. For under $5AU you can ride a CityCat all day if you want to. The ferry is a high speed catamaran that slices through the water so that there is barely any movement. My tip is to stand right at the front with the wind in your face.

That sounds great - We're planning to be there for a night or two and I believe we're staying right downtown. Thanks Amy!

We're in Brisbane now and we took the City Cat today. Very cool. Thanks for the info AmyO. I did stand in the front with the wind in my face. :) We wrote about it here.

I agree the river is a great way to see the city I visited family there a few summers ago then went to sydney and adelaide to see friends, it was a great time. This year im going on a mediterranean Cruises near greece and italy and will end up staying in greece since it's also where my family is from and i have a home there.

Heh. Isn't it interesting how we take things for granted? I take the Rivercat every day on my way into work at Aussie Jobs Online, but I've obviously become jaded. Tell you what... tomorrow I'm going to sit right up at the front, with the wind in my face :)
